    Day Trip Essentials

    🚗
    Getting Around

A rental car gives maximum flexibility. Taxis are affordable for shorter trips. Inter-city buses (louages — shared taxis) connect Oran to Tlemcen and Mostaganem regularly from the gare routière.

    Start Early

Leave Oran by 8am to avoid city traffic and arrive before midday heat. Most historic sites are best visited in the morning. Plan to return before 6pm to avoid rush-hour traffic.

    💧
    Pack the Essentials

Carry water, sun protection and snacks. Outside of main cities, shops and services can be limited. Cash is preferred everywhere — card machines are unreliable outside Oran.
